Home | Who Is God
A ten-year-old child asked, “What is God? What is the true meaning of that word? People say, ‘God! God! Give all responsibility to God,’ but what does that mean?” The Sufi sheikh replied, “God is a power, a light of perfection. He has no form, no body, no color, no race, no religion, no wife, no children, no relatives, no attachments, no selfishness, and no sensual enjoyment. God is a power who can control all forces and all shakthis, keeping each one in its place and subduing those which are excessive. “He embraces and protects those who are on the right path, and forgives and sustains them when there is a fault. He has fathomless qualities of grace. He is the power which shines as the resplendent light of wisdom within wisdom.”
