god - "The Fellowship Is The Kingdom of God"

By: Bawa Muhaiyaddeen

Bismillāhir-Rahmānir-Rahīm. (In the name of God, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate.) All praise and praisings are to Allāhu ta ‘ālā (Almighty God), who is the One of limitless grace and incomparable love. May He help us and bestow His daulat (wealth of Allah), His compassionate blessings, and His grace upon us. Āmīn. As-salāmu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullāhi wa barakātuhu. (May the peace and blessings of God Almighty be with you.)

My salāms (loving greetings) to all my Fellowship children; may Allah help you. Thambi (younger brother), my own born, the Fellowship means unity. In a society, a fellowship, there should be equality, Gods qualities, and the justice of His kingdom. In God’s kingdom, the family which has God’s equality and God’s peace will not have differences or separations of high or low. In that society, that ‘funny family’, God and His children are present. God’s justice is performed in this kingdom. This kingdom is conducted with God’s peace and God’s justice. It is the kingdom of gnānam (wisdom), the kingdom of justice, and the kingdom of love.

God, our Father, is the Leader of this society. He sends His representatives to establish equality, peace, justice, and love in order to strengthen īmān with wisdom and faith. These representatives also strengthened other wise ones as well as those with love and certitude in their hearts. They were made leaders, ‘amirs, to work subordinate to the prophets. These ‘amirs were leaders who acted following the basic principles with certitude and good qualities. This is the way to God’s kingdom.

In God’s kingdom, love is paramount. In God’s kingdom God’s qualities, God’s justice, and God’s unity are found. God’s compassion is found in this kingdom. God’s equality and God’s unity are in this kingdom. The qualities of God’s justice, His duty, His actions, His three thousand gracious qualities, and the ninety-nine wilāyat (powers), are practiced here exactly as God performs them. This kingdom is the kingdom of justice and the kingdom of love. Such is the kingdom of God’s ‘funny family’. It is an ant’s family, a small group. Out of the seventy-three groups, this is but one group, a tiny group.

On Judgment Day, two of these groups will be questioned and must reply. The remaining seventy groups have doubts, divisions, separations of race and religion, and they will go straight to hell. They have differences of race, religion, color, and the ego of the ’I’. Such groups will go directly to hell.

Two groups will be questioned on the Day of Judgment, judged according to their deeds, and then be given either heaven or hell. But one group, the children of God, exists in the form of love in God’s kingdom. They practice God’s justice through conscience. This group is not questioned. They go straight to God’s kingdom. It is a very, very tiny group, the smallest minority; there are very few in this group. Only one in a hundred million will join it. It is very difficult to find such a person. It is very, very difficult, very rare to find a baby of God who acts with His wisdom and His qualities. This group is called the Sufi group. The find clarity in that which is Sufi.

Some groups perform dancing, siddhis (elemental miracles), and other miracles. This is not the true way. Playing drums, dancing, and singing is not the true way. The true group has clarity, wisdom, love, good qualities, good behavior, and unity. They act with all these qualities. The leaders of this group should be the representatives of God. They should be the children of God who guide and serve. In their hearts, they must have a flower garden full of fragrance and love.

The heart is a flower garden where a variety of things are joined together: the fragrance, beauty, and color of different flowers intermingle there. In that place no differences exist; all the fragrances join together and waft forth. Such beauty as this is found in God’s kingdom. The leaders of this society, the secretary, and the treasures must have this state of heart. There should be no differences of color, large or small, or high and low, no differences. Having this state of heart is Sufi wisdom, Sufi gnānam. This is God’s qualities, love, unity, and His kingdom. It is not performed as an act. This is not done for praise, for pride, for the sake of one country, one race or one religion.

My love you, my grandchildren, my sisters and brothers, my sons, daughters, precious jeweled lights of my eyes, God’s children, God’s family, you and I must reflect. The world is on one side but our state is different. The actions in our heart go one way, and the world another. Even though we live in the world, we must find clarity through our love, our unity, our wisdom and our qualities, transform ourselves, and join with God. This is what we are studying in the Sufi Study Circle. This is what Sufi means—to separate from the world and merge with God.

When the state which has no doubt, separations, or differences of ‘I’ and ‘you’ is attained, then, in completion, God’s quality is attained. The state where you find that completeness, that action, and that maturity is known as Sufi. That is the seal of a Sufi; that is the house, the station of a Sufi. The light for this house is patience, sabūr, shakūr, tawakkul, and al-hamdu lillāh. This is the beauty within that house. Wisdom, unity, and love are the lamp which provides resplendence to that house. When you have established this state, that will be a Sufi society.

As leaders you must cherish this Sufi state. First, the protection is given by God. Next, His children should protect this station, this kingdom of God, this kingdom of justice, this kingdom of love, this kingdom of patience and compassion. This is God’s house. Those of you who care for it and cherish it are the leaders. The leaders of every society, every fellowship, should realize this state. In all the Sufi fellowships, the leaders, the president, the secretary, the treasurer, must have the qualities of protecting and cherishing God’s kingdom. His children must have these qualities. Only when you have these qualities can you receive the profits, the wealth of God’s kingdom. Only then can you help others to receive them and find peace.

When others come to this place, they will eat the fruit and food, taste the flavor, the sweetness, and find peace. This is God’s kingdom. The fruits that give peace exist here with seventy-thousand tastes. In one fruit there are so many different tastes, the taste of wisdom, the taste of love, and the taste of gnānam (divine wisdom). They must come to this place, gather these fruits, and find both peace and happiness. They must reap the benefits with wisdom, feeling and awareness, and with faith and certitude.

My love you my grandchildren, my love you my thambis (brothers), Fellowship presidents, secretaries, and treasurers. It is very rare to find leaders for this kingdom. It is very difficult to become leaders for God’s kingdom of truth, love, compassion, justice, and the wealth of grace. Therefore, if you are appointed as leaders, you must be appointed by God. You must protect the wealth of this precious heaven of grace.

This is not a place where ordinary people gather. This is a heavenly place where love, grace, and God merge. This is heaven. You must have the ability to protect this wealth. In this place there is no difference of race, religion, ‘I’, ‘you’, philosophy, scriptures, male, female, high status and low—such differences are not there. God does not possess these differences, and in God’s kingdom, God’s children do not have such differences. This is a place ruled by God. With God, the differences of ‘I’, ‘you’, color, religion, race, and philosophy are not present.

My love you my children, my precious God’s family, God’s children, those who are the leaders of God’s kingdom of justice, the ones who can give peace to the hearts of others, the ones who give the milk of grace, the milk of love, the milk of gnānam (wisdom), the leaders of God’s family, God’s kingdom, you must reflect: When the father of wisdom says something, when the father of love says something, you must place those words in the heart, within the wisdom that is within the heart, and with love, conduct that place of peace, equality, and justice, the kingdom of God. You must conduct it with conscience and give peace to the others. We must give what is needed both to ourselves and to those born with us, making them grow, both the small ones and the big ones.

How do you do this? Give milk to the small ones. To those a little older give liquefied food. Feed and train those who are older than that. To those yet older you must give fruits, making them chew and eat on their own. And those even older must know how to take, clean and eat food by themselves. Those still older must eat the rice by themselves. Those yet older must cut, clean, and cook for themselves and then eat. Those older than that must cook for themselves and give to others. Those who have grown even more must control their hunger and give their food to others. Those who are more mature than that must give love and embrace everyone, making them peaceful. Those even more mature must take responsibility for looking after and giving peace and comfort to all with sorrow and worries. Those who have grown still higher must accept the weight and troubles of other lives, soothe, and comfort them. Higher than that, one considers all the hunger, all the sorrows and suffering in the world as one’s own. One should be able to take these sufferings and sorrows and help others to get rid of them. Those even higher than that must have within them the kingdom of peace, love and equality, and embrace others, treating them equally, giving my peace and love, and looking after them, saying, “Now eat whatever you want. This is God’s kingdom. All His flowers and fruits are here, different kinds of fruits, so many different colors and tastes.”

You must give explanations with your love and wisdom. Each of these have seventy thousand tastes and meanings. Still further, exists love within love, justice within justice, and wisdom within wisdom. Go deeper and deeper. One by one you must understand and explain this. This is the State of the Fellowship.
