QUESTION: Could Bawa say something to my sister who lives in the Dominican Republic? She intends to come here after a while. I have written to her and sent her Bawa's pictures and literature.

BAWA MUHAIYADDEEN: Everything is a picture. But we cannot know the taste of something just by looking at a picture of it. To taste it is to know it. Let her come, and then she will know the taste.

Little brother, in the meantime tell her:

It's all a dream.
It's all a lie.
It's all over.
It's all crazy.
It's all right.

Let us think about this. Let us think about our life and try. You can also tell her:

Hastiness will kill wisdom.
Impatience will devour wisdom.
Anger is the guru of sin.
Lust is greater than the ocean.
Duty is greater than God.
The actions of one who does not analyze
and look into things will lead
to an undying death.
All that glitters in not gold.
A golden pot needs no decoration.
The arrogance of 'I' will hurt oneself.
The possessiveness of 'mine' will
torture oneself.
With the goad of wisdom control your anger,
which is like an elephant in musth.

If the duality of the you and the I leaves us, then we will be in a state of absolute oneness; we will obtain the state of God. We will understand that effulgent light, that jothi, through the triple flame of alif, lam, mim: of Allah, the light of wisdom, and the light of the soul. We will understand the din, the light of perfect purity, which is ill-Allahu, Allah alone. We will know that one and only Treasure

Tell her that.
