One of Bawa’s dearest children shared a letter Bawa sent to her in May of 1974. “To my most beloved daughter, “My love you my daughter, your family, and all of the people in the Fellowship branch. My love you my children from the qalb (inner heart) within my qalb, the deepest love of my heart. “May God guide my children all safely on His Path. May He show you the Heaven of fine gems. May He crown you with the Crown of Gnanam (divine wisdom) which resonates with the sound of Awwal Kalima in the Three Worlds: Awwal, Dhuniya, and Akhiram. In Athi this first Kalima was uttered by all creation. It was confirmed by all the time of birth, must be realized now during the period of this rare birth, must be recited at the moment of death, and again confirmed with absolute conviction of Faith, Determination, and Certitude on Kiyamath, the Judgment Day. May all of my children realize the Effulgent Truth contained in the Dhikr. May they realize the One within One who pours forth the Omnipresent Honey of His Eternal Love and Compassion unceasingly to all creation. Never for one fraction of a second does He forget us. Even if our parents, husbands, wives, children, or friends may all forget us, He will never forget us. Such is the Majesty of His Divine Essence. May my children walk on the path of Purity of Conscience, find the Clarity of Divine Wisdom, free their Souls from the five nails (the five elements of Earth, Fire, Water, Air, and Ether) and from the cross (this body), and merge with That One, That most Merciful and Compassionate One, the Primal Unique One. May you listen to the guidance and explanation of the Guru and do this, my loving children. Amin, Amin, Amin, Ya Rabbal-‘alamin. “My loving daughter, I have received your letter…In your letter, my daughter, you showed a deep and true concern over the illness of one of the other children. This is the concern which must be shown for each and every life over all creation. All are the children of One God, of one Adam, we are all of one family. To realize this is good. “God is within each of the children. He is there in the hearts of all my children. He will not forget even the smallest of them. His Nourishment and Sustenance will reach each child without fail in the exact prescribed amount at the exact prescribed time. Never will there be one iota of variation. There is a reason for everything in His Divine Plan; it is our duty to accept what is given, the joy and the sorrow, the happiness and the pain, with Al-hamdu lillah! All praises are to God! This world is an illusion. The mind grabs at the illusion and tries to make it into reality. It is only the reality of ignorance. This body is also an illusion. To identify oneself with this five element body is to think that one truly exists as part of this illusion. That is wrong. Each person is, in reality, this Soul which is a ray of Pure Light which emanated from God during the state of Athi. It is this absolute Purity of Truth and Grace which must be realized. With the Pure Conscience, Wisdom, and the Love and Compassion of a melting Qalb it must be realized. With Patience, Tolerance, Trust, Dutifulness, Serenity, and the others of the 3,000 Divine Qualities of God it must be realized. The foundation must be these qualities. Then there will be no hunger, disease, old age, or death. Happiness and sadness will disappear in the Light of His Bliss. All of creation will be seen to be worshipping the Creator. They will be seen to utter the kalima in True Remembrance, through prayer to the Primal Unique One. “Rocks, grass, trees, the sun, the moon, this paper, this ink will be seen in this state of vannakkam (through worship). “My daughter, you and all my children, must also be in this true state of worship with each 43,242 breaths (Sajdah) of each day. Then that One who is Wisdom within Wisdom, who exists as Grace within Grace, will come and mingle in peaceful fulfillment within the open Qalb (inner heart). “The intention and understanding must be towards this station. The entire life of each child, of every being, must be toward this state, God-Man, Man-God. This is the only True Station. “My Love you my daughter and all the children of the Fellowship branch; May the Almighty God grant you this One True Realization.” M. R.
