“My love you my grandchildren, my granddaughters and grandsons, my love you. God has placed all His wealth within us. He has given us the wealth of the mubarakat, the wealth of the three worlds. We must find this treasure by having good thoughts. It exists, but it is hidden inside us. We ourselves have buried this treasure under our jealousy and envy, and we must dig through all that to obtain this wealth. We must dispel the darkness to obtain this wealth. My love you my children. Let me tell you a story to illustrate this. It is another story about the Rasulullah (Sal.) In the city of Medina there was a very, very poor man. His life was full of problems. He faced difficulty after difficulty, problem after problem. He cried and told the story of his life to some people who suggested various places to go for help. First he went to the king and received some help from him, but the poor man did not really benefit from that help. Then he went to see some gurus and asked for their help. They did help him a little, but he still remained a poor beggar. No one seemed to be capable of solving his problems, nothing worked out for him, and he kept on asking who might end his sorrows. Then someone suggested, “Go to the Rasulullah (Sal.) and ask him for help. He lives over there. Go ask him.” So the beggar went to see Muhammad (Sal). “Ya Rasulullah (Sal.), the world is very difficult for me,” he said. “I came here to ask you to end my sorrows.” “Well my brother, is that why you have come? That is very good,” said the Rasulullah (Sal.). “All right then, give me everything you have.” “But Rasulullah (Sal.), I do not have anything!” exclaimed the beggar. “You do not have anything? It is very difficult indeed if you have nothing. You must have something. There is one thing which you must have to end your difficulty. What is that? The one thing that you must have is Allah, exalted be His name. If you have Allah, then you will never be troubled, but if you do not you will always have difficulties. You will only be wealthy if you have that one thing.” “Is that so?” said the beggar. “Yes it is. Would you keep that one thing?” “If I only could have that wealth, I would most certainly keep it, but I do not have it, “sobbed the beggar. “All right. First you must strengthen your iman, your absolute faith, certitude, and determination. Say, ‘La ilaha ill-Allahu Muhammadur-Rasulullah: There is not other god but God and Muhammad is His prophet.’ This is the path to that wealth. First, strengthen that path within your innermost heart, within your qalb. But now you must give me everything you have. “What do you mean?” asked the beggar. “Give me everything you have. Do you not have anything to give me?” “Yes, I have one penny.” “Give that to me,” said the Rasulullah (Sal.) and the beggar gave him the penny. Then the Rasulullah (Sal.) asked, “Do you have anything else?” “No, that is all.” “If that is all you have, you would not have had these difficulties. You have your sorrows, your sadness, your poverty, and your hardship. Give them to me, and keep only what I just now gave you, the Kalimah. Give me all the rest, your thoughts, your troubles, and your sorrows. Now keep the wealth of Allah and let go of all your sorrow and troubles. Give them to Allah, exalted be His name.” Then the Rasulullah (Sal.) took the penny from one hand and transferred it into the other. Handing it to the beggar, he said, “This is the rahmat, the wealth of God. Here, take this. Take this wealth and do business with this.” “What kind of business can I do with just one penny?” asked the beggar in amazement. “This penny is the business. This is the business,” answered Muhammad (Sal.). “How can I do business with only one penny?” he persisted. “Aren’t you going to take very good care of the other wealth I gave you? Keep that. Take this penny too, and conduct your business with it. Take this with you, go and conduct your life.” So the beggar took the penny but still he wondered, “How can I do business with only a penny? It is just one cent. You just gave me my penny back. You did not give me anything else!” “I changed it. You gave it to me and I changed it. Now it is not just one cent. When you had it, it was one cent, but when I took it in my hands, I transferred it from one hand to the other, and now it is no longer a penny. Now it is the rahmat, the wealth of God. Take it, this is the rahmat.” So the beggar took the penny and left. Now, there was a king in that country who had a terrible sore on his leg that would not heal. It was filled with pus and blood, and no one could cure it. Then a doctor told him, “The only way to cure this is to put a penny on it. Then the sore will heal.” So the king told his minister to look for someone who had a penny to give him. Just then the beggar was standing nearby, looking at his penny wondering what on earth he would ever do with it. The king’s minister saw this and took him to the king. “What is that in your hand? Give it to me, and I will give you a pound for your penny,” the king offered, and the beggar gave him his penny. So the king gave him the pound, took the penny, and put it on the sore. Because the penny had the rahmat of the Rasulullah (Sal.), the sore dried up immediately and healed. The beggar was very excited. He took the money and ran out to buy some camels, cows, goats, a farm, and date palms. They all grew, and multiplied, and within a short time he had fruits, dates, milk, and date nectar. He saved all this and took them to the Rasulullah (Sal.) who looked up and said, “My brother, what is this?” “O great one, Allah, exalted be His name, has given me the wealth of the mubarakät, the wealth of the three worlds. Now I understand. You gave me a pound for that penny, and so much wealth has accumulated since then that I am bringing it to you.” “So that is what happened, is it?” said the Rasulullah (Sal.) “That is very good. It was Allah, exalted be His name, who gave this to you, was it not? And with whom did you share this? Did you share it with anyone? Did you share it with others who have the same difficulties you once suffered?’ “No I did not give it to anyone, because I wanted to give it to you first. I have a house, a palace, a fortress, a date-palm estate, many camels, cows, goats, and great riches.” “Do you not remember the difficulties you had before?” asked the Rasulullah (Sal.) “If you had remembered that and really understood, you would have helped all the poor people in your neighborhood, wouldn’t you? You could have helped them. Allah, exalted be His name, gave you so much, and you should have shared it with others and given them peace. What can I do with the things you have brought? I have only Allah, exalted be His name. I cannot use any of this because I have only Him. Therefore, take all this, look for the poor in your neighborhood, and share it with them. Share the wealth that God has given you with the hungry, the sad, and the poor. Help them. Go now and help them.” “Allah, exalted be His name, is my only wealth. He is the wealth that He has given me. I do not want the wealth He gave you. Please share it with your neighbors.” This is what the Rasulullah (Sal.) said to the beggar. Like this my grandchildren, if you go to a gnani or a Sheikh who is like the Rasulullah (Sal.¬), he will convert whatever you give him. If you give him a penny he will change it, and if you carefully accept the rahmat which he gives back to you, that will be your wealth. He will not give you anything else; he will just return whatever you bring him. He will convert it, he will transfer it from one hand to the other, and give it back to you as the rahmat, the wealth of God. That will be your wealth, the wealth that never diminishes. Whatever you bring him, any thought, any knowledge, any daulat or wealth, any good conduct, he will transform it by transferring it from one hand to the other, and then he will give it back. He will not keep it, because he only needs God. He will accept it, transfer it from one hand to the other,’ and then return it as the rahmat. He will multiply what you give him and return it to you. But if you say, “He has not given me anything,” that is your fault. That is your own doubt. If you have determined iman and faith, then whatever he gives you will multiply; that one penny you bring will multiply. Just as you grew from a mere atom and took form, your wealth will grow in the same way. The divine knowledge know as ilm, your wealth, and the wealth of the mubarakat, all come from one atom, and your must be determined to obtain them. The Sheikh will change and multiply whatever you bring him. If you surrender to him, if you give him all your thoughts, and if you exist completely within him, then that completeness will be your wealth. That ilm, that knowledge, will inspire your life. But if you do not strengthen your Imăn, your absolute faith and determination, then you will fail. You will have doubts, and your life will go downhill. That will be your torment, your torture, and your sadness. My grandchildren, surrender all responsibility to your Sheikh, and take what he gives you. He will, convert that one atom into a vast, brilliant light. He will change that one atom into the vast wealth of the rahmat, and then he will return it to you. You must believe this. Think about it my grandchildren. Do not think that the Sheikh will give you a palace or a house or a bank. That is not the way it is. He will change what you bring to him, and in that you must have faith and determination. He will take what you give him and transform it into paradise, the kingdom of God, the mubarakat of God, His qualities, His behavior, His goodness, and His iman. He will strengthen them, and that will be your wealth. Without destroying them, he will make them grow and multiply. You must have faith and certitude in that power, and if you do, the wealth of your life will never diminish. The wealth of ‘ilm, the wealth of the mubarakat will never diminish. Think about it. This is what he will give you. He will take whatever you give him and change it in this way. He will not give you anything other than what you have given him. He will take whatever you give him, give it to God, and then give it back to you. This is his baidah, the formless wealth which he will give to you. Think about this. You must obtain the rahmat of God. My love you my grandchildren. May God protect you with His grace. Amin.
